ABOUT AMY

Amy claims Illinois as her home state although growing up as an Air Force brat her family lived in numerous locations. In 2000, she started spending summers on Mt. Desert Island while working winters at McMurdo Station in Antarctica where she met her now husband, Craig.  After graduating from St. Louis University with a Bachelors in Accounting she continued her wandering ways working for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service as a mobile manager transferring to 8 different locations in 6 years. Deciding it was time for a lifestyle change she started working seasonal jobs in Anchorage and Denali National Park in Alaska, Sun Valley in Idaho, McMurdo Station Antarctica and Acadia National Park. She made MDI her year-round home in 2003 making the island the first place she has lived longer than 4 years in her entire life. She has worked for Acadia Corporation, Island Connections and Galyn’s as well as owning her own retail business in Bar Harbor. Recently retired, she spends most of her time volunteering, hiking, and traveling.
