Our Origin Story
Since February of 2018, Open Table MDI has been serving free weekly community meals. Our founders, Puranjot Kaur and Mahandeva Singh, wanted to create a place for neighbors to gather.
From our early days in the kitchen of our local Congregational church, to our launch of a dedicated community space in Bar Harbor, to our expansion to the Quietside of MDI, our mission has stayed the same: We do this to ensure that our island community has access to healthy food and authentic connection with their neighbors.
