Tom moved to MDI thirteen years ago. He has spent many years working in both the nonprofit realm and the food industry. In his 25-year career, he has been an organic farmer, sourdough bread baker, and the director of several nonprofits. Most recently, he was the Executive Director of the Bar Harbor Food Pantry. There, he oversaw the pantry through a time of rapid growth in usage, tripling the number of visits in a period of two years. He also managed the fundraising, purchase, and renovation of a new physical location, more than doubling the space and quadrupling the cold storage. He currently lives in Bar Harbor and has made a career shift into massage therapy. He owns Flying Mountain Massage in Town Hill. When he isn’t working, he is hiking the shore with his son or climbing a mountain to watch the sunrise.
